Val’s Top Ten Attractions in Houston
Today I am going to talk about the previous city I lived in for over six years. Houston!
Houston will always have a special place in my heart and it is truly the city I grew *up* in.
I was about 27 when I moved to Houston with the idea of going to law school instead I went to paralegal school and started my career as a paralegal in litigation and family law. I will always love Houston and miss it, it was also the first time I moved out completely on my own and was forced to grow up.
With all that being said Today I want to talk about the Top Ten Attractions in Houston according to me. This is a list in no particular order but rather just a list that *I* think is my top ten.
All opinions are my own.
The History Museum of Natural Science
I went here once on a date. LOL I fell in love with the Museum not the guy. Ha! This museum is expensive but very worth it. I want to take Ryan to this Museum later this year hopefully.
Houston Zoo
I grew up going to this Zoo so it will always have a special place in my heart. If you Visit Houston The Zoo is a must see.
Downtown Area
Houston’s downtown is amazing. So many bars, food halls, restaurants, hotels with views. Everything you could imagine. I love Houston downtown and when I lived there I enjoyed spending time in downtown. I can’t wait to show Ryan Houston and Texas in general.
The Beach
Okay okay!?! Houston doesn’t have a beach Technically. Galveston does and I love it. You can drive your vehicle right to the beach. Ryan can’t wrap his brain around that one. We are used to cliffs on our beaches in California. I love the beaches in Texas because you can pitch a tent, spend the night and barbeque all right there by the ocean. I just think the Beaches in Texas are unique and family friendly. Everyone should visit the Beaches in Texas at least once.
The Galleria Mall
The Houston Galleria is one of a kind and has everything you could think of including a hotel. A ice rink, any store it even has Nobu in the mall. Speaking of food my next one just makes so much sense.
Sprinkles Cupcake ATM
I know technically this ATM is at more locations than the Houston one but I have only visited the Houston Sprinkles Cupcake ATM so I am adding it to my list. It is a genius idea! I have been known to visit the ATM in the middle of the night just for a Cupcake or two.
Discovery Green Park
This park is brilliant. The parking is underground and the park is on top and it is beautiful and surrounded by nature. I loved going on walks here and clearing my head or taking my dog to the dog park here. It is a unique park and a must visit for tourists.
Houston Rodeo and Livestock
This is a Houston institution. It is probably the biggest event of the year and probably the state. Everyone comes to this it is a huge event for Houston. I never was able to go but I do want to attend one day.
NASA Space Center
This needs no explanation. I put it here because I feel like if you are going to visit Houston for vacation then you MUST go here. Visiting Nasa Center is a must especially if you are a science nerd.
Breweries
There are so many different Breweries in Houston and I went to many. A lot of them are outdoors and they have games and live music, most of them have food. I love Breweries so I was would go to different ones around the city with friends.
If you are interested in visiting this massive city in Texas then I would go to the Houston Chamber of Commerce for more info.
That wraps up my Top Ten Houston Attractions!
