One Year Later as Homeowners
Hey everyone! Today I will be updating you all on Being Homeowners one year later.
It has been one whole year since we bought our condo. So much has changed in this country in terms of unaffordability of housing. We are in a housing crisis, homeowning is out of reach for most people specifically the younger generations (Millennials and Gen Z). If you do not have family that CAN help you then renting is probably the only option for you. Even people who make more money than average are not affording buying a home in this country. We are lucky because Ryan’s mom helped us with the closing costs and also co-signed for us.
We enjoy living here in our home and see ourselves living here for years to go maybe even forever. We are lucky that we were able to buy our condo. The first year was tough because I was the only one working full-time. It was a struggle paying the mortgage but we finally made it. This year has been different and better because Ryan has a full-time job that he is good at and I am with the same law firm working remotely. I am also tackling Law School; I am fully booked. Our favorite place in the condo is probably the Kitchen. We love cooking together. I am hoping this year I can do more recipes and post them here.
Anyway, I digress. We also love our pool and our neighborhood. I love walking Lucky through the condo complex but also through the neighborhood. Our neighbors are super nice and everyone mainly keeps to themselves. We also want to entertain more this year. I am hoping we can have a 4th of July Party or maybe a summer party.
I have a full video on my TikTok if you want to see our condo before. Also, my Instagram will have photos of our condo. We love living here so I felt it was worth it. We also feel lucky because we are close to our downtown area, right across from a grocery store, an ice cream shop, and several amazing restaurants including Mexican Food! Yummy! We also are right next door to the only Movie Theater in our small town. We also have our bus system running right on our street. So we are centrally located, also we are a few miles from Trader Joe’s, Target, Ross, TJ Max, and more restaurants. So It has been an amazing first year living here, it was financially hard for a little bit but this year it has gotten easier and better.
