Remarkably Bright Creatures: Shelby Van Pelt

Happy Book Review Day:

I was able to snag Remarkably Bright Creatures on Libby an app that lets you borrow books through your local library system. I love reading so Libby is a great app because I could never afford to buy books as often as I would like. Since it is a very popular book I was able to borrow it from Libby for only 7 days so between moving, applying to every job under the sun and going on interviews, I was reading this book and trying to finish it. I def in the future want to own this book. This is probably my top five for the year. So far I have read only 3 books so I wouldn’t put to much weight on my top five. I plan on reading a lot more and hope you (the reader) can hold me accountable.

Anyways, without further ado here is my book review on Remarkably Bright Creatures.

If you read the book keep in mind the narrator is an Octopus name Marcelles. Marcelles is very smart, sweet and very mischievous throughout the whole book while also trying to bring answers to his favorite caretaker aka (custodian of the aquarium that Marcelles resides at Sowell Bay) Tova. Tova lost her son 30 years ago but the body of her son was never able to be recovered. Then there is Cam (Cameron) from Modesto California who was raised by his Aunt after his mom left when he was 9 years old. We get perspectives from Tova, Marcelles and Cam. Cam decides he wants to find his father so he travels to Sowell Bay Washington to find answers. In his quest of finding answers he encounters many other things that will forever change his life.

It is so hard to not spill any spoilers. This book is amazing and it works so well with even Marcelles being the narrator. It will have you cry and laugh throughout the whole book. It does not lag at any time of the book. The author Shelby Van Pelt debut novel and can’t wait to see what other books she writes.

You can buy a copy of her book here.

I definitely will be as this is a book that I’d want to keep.
