Top Five Fun Activities To Do In Martinez In The Summer

Martinez is a small community in the East Bay Area, and it is our home that we live in. Martinez is a small town with many fun things to do and other bigger towns surround it. Martinez is about 45 minutes from San Francisco; and 30 minutes from Oakland.  We have great weather most of the year.

Top Five Fun Activities to Do in Martinez during the Summer

Market & Main- Downtown

Market & Main is unique because it is a food hall and entertainment all in one. It has a beautiful patio in the back of the hall with food trucks and live entertainment. It is so fun and the vibe is perfect for summer. It is family-friendly but they do have a bar upstairs and a brewery downstairs.

The Artisan Market- is another place downtown and they have handmade jewelry and sauces, and different sellers market their handmade items. It is really fun to look around and admire all the handmade items. They also have classes that teach different mediums of art.

Muir House-

Martinez is home to John Muir he is the grandfather of preserving trees and parks. The National Park System was created because of him. He lobbied the president and Congress to preserve natural beauty. He lived in Martinez most of his life and his wife inherited this beautiful white Victorian home. It is gorgeous inside and even just walking around the yard is so beautiful. It has three levels so there is so much to see. Most of it is preserved and you can imagine how it was living long ago.

Brewery tour/Viano Winery Tour, William Welch Wines-

We have several breweries in Martinez and we also have several Wineries in town.  Martinez is about an hour from “The Wine Country” so it just makes sense we have several Wineries in town. There are several beer festivals a year; I wrote about the Beer fest that we went to last April.  You can read about that here.

Hiking Trails/ Marina- Martinez is home to a beautiful Marina and tons of beautiful hiking trails that take you to high hills. The views here are gorgeous and you do feel like you live in Italy.  Every time I take my dog on a walk I always tell myself I can not believe I live in such a beautiful part of the United States.

Have a great Monday!
